Prayer Teams
You may have noticed during certain church services that the door to
the bridal room is closed. That's because since mid-November over
30 Prayer Warriors have participated in the weekly prayer room
service. We have volunteer warriors from our youth program, newer
members, Sunday School classes, small groups and others who just
want to experience the Power of Prayer Ministry. That's exciting
that they feel moved to show the love for the Lord and Union Church
in this way.
We use the weekly church bulletin as a basis for the prayer room but
more importantly we let our hearts determine where our prayers take
us. An important part is the Focus Family. Five church families
are contacted each week and their personal prayer requests are
uplifted during the service. Our goal is to reach every family
within a year. We have already prayed for over 70 families so far.
That doesn't mean that you have to wait until you are contacted.
There are prayer request forms available outside of the
bridal/prayer room. Simply fill one out and put it in the gold
treasure chest. These concerns are also prayed for during the
weekly service. If you leave an address also, we'd love to follow
up with a Prayergram. We are also exploring the possibility of a
prayer request site on the church web page to make communications
timely and easier.
Another goal is to schedule our Prayer Warriors once every 3
months-- 4 times a year. Couples, groups and individuals are
encouraged to participate. That's asking for a smidgen of your time,
talents and treasures and it couldn't be easier to volunteer. Just
talk to any Deacon, stop by the prayer room after church or sign up
outside of the prayer room. We'll do the scheduling when it's
convenient for you. We would love to see everyone experience the
Power of Prayer as we build stronger families and relationships
within the church as individuals pray together. Come join us as we
organize a network of praying Christians who will become the ongoing
prayer base for future spiritual strength and create a spirit of
excitement as praying Christians begin seeing God answer prayers.
Sincerely, The Deacons
