If
this winter weather has got you climbing the walls, why not join the
knitters and crocheters on Monday, March 5th and Monday, March
19th at 9:30 in the lounge. We give an afghan to new babies in
our congregation, but our primary objective is to provide afghans for
needy mothers and babies at Magee-Women’s Hospital, O.V.G.H., nursing
homes in our area, and to Sewickley Hospital. The afghans for Sewickley
go to their premature infants and the empty arms program. The total for
2006 was 263 and the cumulative total since we started in 2001 is 1330.
We
recently received a thank you note from Pam Dodge, the Director of
Ambulatory Care at Magee. It is posted on the bulletin board at the
bottom of the stairs.
Our group thanks everyone for their generous contributions of yarn and
money to buy more yarn. We go through a lot of yarn and are appreciative
of your help.
Please consider joining us for a time of fellowship and an opportunity to
learn new stitches, while helping some people who may not be able to
afford a nice afghan for their new baby. There's no feeling quite so
wonderful as giving a gift you’ve made for a friend or for someone in
need.
