From our Student Pastor . . . .

Some of you may have seen the tall guy on the platform the last few Sundays, and I’d like to introduce myself and let you know what I’ll be doing at the church.

My name is Grant Sutphin and I’m a senior at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. I hold undergraduate degrees in math and civil engineering from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. There are several places that I would consider my “hometown” – Houston, San Diego, Iowa City, Kansas City, Nashville, and now, the east side of Pittsburgh. Seminary has been a great journey for me and the Lord continues to reveal my purpose in this sacred vocation.

For the Fall I’ll be working at the church on Tuesdays and Thursdays, assisting with pastoral duties, hospital visits, and youth group. I’ll be present in both worship services each Sunday and I’ll be preaching once a month. My first Sunday in the pulpit will be November 4. Please feel free to stop in or contact me through email or by phone through the church office.

You have all been so very kind and welcoming already; I cannot thank you enough for that. It is truly a blessing for me to have this opportunity to serve with you here at Union Church and I look forward to our time together.

In Christ,

Grant
